Our Mission

Mary Potter's view of the mission of the Little Company of Mary was that it was called to be a sign of God’s dwelling with his people.

Just as Mary, the Mother of Jesus received a commission from the Cross to be a mother to the brethren of Jesus, we share that same commissioning. We are to nurture the life of faith which *is* Jesus in our own lives and in the lives of those we meet. We are to give witness to the wonder of God’s infinite love for humanity, and for the world.

 Our constitutions call us to make credible by our lives and our works that God is good, we are challenged to cooperate with those striving to create a world in which love, justice and peace prevail. Rejecting whatever would be a compromise to the rights of God’s children to experience themselves as worthy of all good gifts, we stand against whatever  compromises justice and peace.

Our Mission to preach the good news of Jesus’ love for humanity is underscored by our Marian identity. We believe that Mary addresses to us the words: "Do whatever he tells you". United with her in Spirit, we seek to respond to this call to be hearers of the Word. With her we stand at the Cross of the World and offer ourselves that others might have life.
