To live anawim in the strength of His power.

On July 9th, Sr Carmel Byrne LCM celebrated the anniversary of her Golden Jubilee of Religious Profession. The actual anniversary was on July 1 but this day, Sr Carmel was able to celebrate with her small community in Wagga Wagga and Fr Paddy Sykes, the local Parish Priest and friend of the LCM community.

In a very personal Eucharistic Celebration of Thanksgiving held in Sr Carmel's home, Sr Lois Woodcock and Sr Brigid Gleeson, Carmel's community, welcomed Sr Bernadette Fitzgerald and Sr Kathleen Cotterill representing Province Leadership, to the joyful celebration.

So many years ago Carmel committed her life to the service of the spirit of Calvary, willing to be presence, compassion and prayer for the sick, the dying and those in need. She has lived faithful and steadfast in love. Carmel chose her readings to reflect her relationship with her God and her experience of God's love. In Ephesians 3, we reflected on the generosity of a God who gives each one the power of the spirit, for their hidden self to go strong.

Carmel has offered her life in service and we pray in gratitude for that commitment. We rejoice that her call led her to be our companion in the Little Company of Mary and we rejoice in her yes for all that will be in the future.
